Treatment

Okay, so before starting on my final film, I had made all the images up in my mind of what I was going to shoot. I watched alot of opening titles of films according to the genre and am planning to do something similar.
So in my concept and synopsis, I mentioned how I was going to show two girls, or friends, with completely different lifestyles. In the film, I will need to show a rich girl and a not-so wealthy girl. One must have expensive-looking things, and one must have the opposite. The objects and surroundings these characters hold will give them the real-life effect which lets audiences connect to the characters and forget for a while that they are watching a movie. Instead, they will feel as though they are a part of the film itself.
The purpose of the opening credits will mainly be to depict the different lifestyles. So the shots will be as follows: First of all, a close-up of a photograph in a frame, showing two girls standing together will be taken, with a figure moving in the background. Slow, serene music will be used, to make the audience curious of what the characters will do. The next shot would be of the first character looking outside the window, where the title will appear. Then, the character will turn around in a mid shot and I will surprise the audience by taking a long-shot showing the rooms of both the girls, hence, differentiating in their lifestyles as one will have a luxurious room, and the other will have a low-standard room. Once I use the long shots, I will use fast-paced music. Then, as the two girls are getting ready for their day, I will show them using different objects, doing the same purpose.
I have still not confirmed exactly which objects to show, but for now I have decided on the following:

For the rich girl, we have the following objects:

In this, we can see expensive-looking, branded products, which obviously belong to someone who can afford them.

This picture depicts the gender representation, as well as the age representation. Here we can see teen magazines. The pictures in the magazines let us know that they are definitely meant for the female audience.
And here, we start using objects that can compare the two different lifestyles.
So firstly, we have a touch-screen cell-phone. Again, meant for someone who can afford expensive products. And then we have a cell-phone of a very old model. It does not have a coloured screen, which lets us know that it is not expensive, but instead, is rather cheap. A person who uses a cell-phone as a need, instead of a luxury, would use a cheaper phone to save money.

Here, I wanted to show how the rich girl can afford appliances like Hair straighteners to modify her hair, but the unwealthy girl can not, therefore she will be shown using objects like a clothing iron for the same purpose.

The first image shows us a very lavish wardrobe with a wide range of expensive looking, branded clothes and shoes. This second image shows a bunch of clothes hanging on a wire, instead of clothes in a lavish wardrobe. Even the clothes shown seem shaggy and inexpensive. We can tell that the second character is not wealthy like the first character. A differentiation has been created in the living standards of these characters.

Once the two girls are ready, the rich one will be shown driving her own car, whereas the unwealthy girl will use public transport. Their attire will also be shown different. The rich girl will wear trendy fashionable clothes, and the other will wear a robe or 'burkha', since her family is conservative. I will use the shot of the second girl climbing out if a richshaw, and then taking off her burkha, and then revealing that she was wearing trendy clothes as well. The point of this shot will be to show the audience that the girl is trying to fit in with her friends, and was forced to wear the burkha because of her conservative parents.
The last few shots will be of the rich girl's car running out of gas and stopping in the middle of the road. She then texts/calls someone, (a shot of her expensive phone will be shown) and in the next shot we see the unwealthy girl walking the rest of the way (without her burkha on)
She answers her phone (again, a shot to show her cheap phone). At that moment, the audience will be told that the two characters are connected, despite their differences. Since the unwealthy girl will be lying to her friends to fit in, her dilemma will be that her rich friend asks her to pick her up in her car, since her own car broke down. The last shot would be a close-up shot of the unwealthy girl, showing her expressions of worry at her problem.
